BIOGRAPHY
My name is Molly Cesanek. I have been an avid figure skater and a student at Wakefield School since age five. I am attending American University in the fall of 2019 where I plan on studying Health Promotion.

With my many years at the rink and being in the Wakefield halls, I was fortunate to experience an incredibly friendly and warm atmosphere; however, given my dedication to my sport, I was unable to attend school full time. As invested as I am in skating, I missed many events at school that would be talked about and laughed over, but then I'd hear students complain about wanting to go home and hating school. Given my "double-life" situation with school and skating, the students' complaints had me wishing I would be able to skate and attend the school events others wished they could miss. I began to realize how unhappy everyone is, how glass-half-empty everyone is. Moreover, I chose to study happiness on a deeper level by examining it as my senior thesis and trying to create an inspiring composition that would leave my audience feeling more glass-half-full.
